Sippin' Lemonade & Playin' Scrabbz

from Shark Party by Sam Mulligan

about

The first piece of gameboy music I ever made was a cover of "Blitzkrieg Bop" by Ramones. This is the second piece of music I made with a gameboy, and the first original song I ever wrote with it. This was way back when 8bitcollective.org was a thriving community of chip music enthusiasts in 2009 or so. It's not technically impressive or brilliantly structured, I don't think the melodies are particularly inspired or sophisticated, but I always liked how I felt when listening to it, and while it is very different than everything else on this album (and all the other music I've publicly released thus far for that matter), I think it's a fun tune and important to share one's roots. We all have different starting places, and we just gotta keep on chasing what we love and fart around a bit, because that's what life is all about.
