The song “Snowball Season” takes you on the wild winter adventure you didn't know you needed in your life. Beginning sparsely, in a jaunty 6/8 time signature, then gradually increasing in tempo before launching into a four on the floor sing/shout-a-long self-acknowledgement of losing all my... *ahem* The Protagonists' friends due to the unrelenting snowball tosses. The energy builds and holds just long enough for a sick solo, courtesy of the Gameboy’s pulse waves (complemented by some gnarly guitars) conducted by Sam Mulligan. The solo and guitars race to one last frenzy of snowball-throwing bliss before segueing into a slow waltz, which mimics the solemn realization of the damage done over the course of the "Snowball Season". It brings an impactful, yet brief sorrow, as our protagonist soon remembers that "friends" are easily replaced, and it will soon be snowball season again. The cycle repeats.
"Snowball Season" is a song about throwing snowballs to the point of obsession and the alienation from ones' community that is likely to occur as a result. Crooned over a backdrop of crunchy slapback-echoed guitars and a Gameboy performing it’s very best impersonation of a 'Pinkerton'-era weezer cover band, "Snowball Season" will be an excellent addition to any wintery/holiday themed playlist and is sure to prompt your friends to pause and question, "What IS this...?"
